Sellers Guide

Preparing your item for sale

Looking to sell? Take a quick jaunt through our sale guide to ensure you’re getting every penny your items worth!

Junk or Vintage?

Selling online can be a simple and great way to clean up and declutter!  However it's easy to shop around and compare items.  Flip through our guide to help your items stand out above the rest!

Scrub Scrub Scrub!!

A simple clean can really highlight the quality and condition of your item. Some warm soap and water, lysol wipes or a dunk in a bucket to give that thing a scrub!

Last minute maintenance

Oil hinges and moving part, polish fingertips off reflective surfaces.

During cleaning take notes of damaged and undamaged parts.  Ensure all pieces are together and accounted for.  If anything is missing take note as this will be important for your advertisement.

Pictures and Backgrounds

This is one of the quickest ways to set your items and ads apart from the competition

Backgrounds

Simple and contrasting. You should aim for all backgrounds to either be a flat white or black platform. A cluttered or busy background can take away from the condition of the item.

No ideas? Try one of these!

  • Black or white towels or sheets on empty table.
  • Dark dresser or tables, Clean and uncluttered
  • Sheets of plywood
  • Clean section of flooring or concrete
  • Unprinted side of boxes

More is More

Buyers want to see the item as if they could hold it themselves.  Start by visualizing your item as a cube and capture images of all six sides.  If the item has any features that open, detach, twist or are covered, be sure to take additional photos to showcase these aspects and the overall condition of the item.

Descriptions

Don't ask questions! Answer them!

Ask yourself

When was the item bought and how long was it used for?

Why are you selling it?

What did you like?

What didn’t you like?

Are there attachments that are sold separately you need?

Are there attachments that were sold separately that you purchased and are including?

Honesty goes further than you think.

When you clean and note your item be honest about it. The condition is going to be major factor in how the buyer decides between shopping further or purchasing your item a dishonest or overvalued assessment can have potential buyers weary to purchase or negotiations.

Simple shopping

People are shopping and have questions, and the more information they have the more likely they are to decide rather than shopping around. As an added bonus the more there is the less questions you have to answer.
